About Us

Mikael Salmela is a 3rd generation entrepreneur and head of the contractor division. At a young age, building computers and coding was a passion and hobby. Professionally, he started with industrial software manufacturing execution systems. As the technology was evolving, he  moved on to web applications and eCommerce. Working for a few fortune 500 companies as a software engineer, project manager and architect where he developed his skills and was able to successfully finish projects in image recognition and blockchain.

He then worked with a few startups until he became CTO to one of them. He  was able to help them scale from a dozen, to now over 100 contractors. With his technical skills and business background, Mikael thrives in taking on challenging projects and helping them grow to their full potential. 

Greg Gunner, who is the head of the software division, first started in software development in 2002 working under the leadership of his father, Paul Gunner, who specialized in main frame applications for IBM AS/400 systems. From there, Greg developed a strong passion for business, branding, and web-based software solutions. Having spent over 20 years in the industry, Greg has developed countless software solutions from a Video Rental system to online eCommerce and Enterprise Resource Planning applications. His true love is helping companies digitize their processes, making them more effective and efficient, and in turn helping their stakeholders build scalable businesses.

Because of the technical backgrounds of both Mikael and Greg, CoFoundry is in a unique position to offer true industry experience that helps companies make the right hiring choice and build the right software correctly.
